Camping weekend in Ommen
door Jochem
This year, Transman Foundation is celebrating its 15th anniversary! To celebrate, we are organizing TWO fun weekends for trans men and their partners. In April, we already went to Stroe. In August, we’re going camping again in Ommen.
Want to sign up right away? You can do that here!
When is the weekend?
The camping weekend will take place from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31, 2025.
We’ll start on Friday afternoon at 5:00 PM and end on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
Who is the weekend for?
The weekend is for everyone aged 18 and up who is transmasculine (i.e., born with female sex characteristics), in any stage of social transition and/or medical treatment (if you choose to pursue one). So, this includes people who want only certain medical treatments or none at all. It doesn’t matter what stage you're in: just starting, still exploring, in the middle, at the end, or long since done.
The weekend is also open to partners: you’re welcome to bring your partner(s) if you like. (But it's not required.) Partners of transmasculine people are also welcome without their trans man partner.
What will we do?
As always, we’ll offer a variety of workshops, led by experienced facilitators. It will be a mix of talking, feeling, and doing. We're still finalizing the schedule.
Here are the workshops confirmed so far:
- DIY: Information about safe hormones
- Singing workshop
- Facial hair
- Phallo, meta, or nothing: 3 men share their experiences
- Veterans' hour
- Traditional Dutch trans-games
- Penises & packers, by Lars
- Sports workshop
More information about the workshops will follow.
Besides the workshops, there will—as always—be plenty of space to share experiences, ask questions, and just enjoy good company.
Where is the weekend?
After the success of previous years, we’re returning to a beautiful nature camping site near Ommen, where we have our own field. The location is easily accessible by public transport and car. You'll receive the address after registering.
There will be six-person tents ready for us, so you don’t need to bring your own. (You will need to bring your own air mattress or sleeping pad, and a sleeping bag or blanket.) Prefer to sleep in your own tent? You can let us know when signing up. There's space for a few small tents.
Accessibility
We’ll be camping on a grass field, so it’s not particularly wheelchair-friendly. (Though wheelchair users have attended in the past.) If the weather is very warm, there may be a lot of wasps.
We accommodate dietary needs and don’t serve pork. You can indicate any needs for accessibility, diet, or other things when you register.
What does it cost?
The weekend costs €135 for donors and €155 for non-donors.
(Becoming a donor costs €17.50 per year. If you sign up for the weekend and become a donor at the same time, you get a discount. That’s cheaper!)
If the participation fee is too high for you and is keeping you from signing up, please let us know. We’re happy to discuss ways to make it more accessible for you, such as payment in installments or a discount.
We hope to see many of you again in August!
