On Friday evening, June 13, an online meeting for trans men with a physical disability or chronic illness will be held. Also trans men who are hard of hearing or deaf and who have a visual impairment or are blind are welcome. The topic of this meeting is 'living loss'. The goal is to exchange experiences about life as a trans man with a disability or chronic illness.

Living loss

Living with a disability has various challenges. One of the difficult things is the grief for the things that are no longer possible. Mourning for the life that will never be. This is called 'living loss'. Being a trans man also adds an extra challenge to this.

Boundaries

We all encounter boundaries in our own way. Sometimes these are our own boundaries, sometimes they are boundaries of the people around us or of society. It does not matter whether you were disabled at a young age or 'acquired' a disability later, or whether your illness remains the same or gets worse.

Recognition

Of course, everyone will have to find their own way in this. Yet we can support each other. It can be very nice to have contact with people who really understand you. And perhaps others have tips that you had not thought of yourself. Or you have experiences that someone else can benefit from. Exchanging lived experiences is always valuable!

Online meeting

Friday evening June 13, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, via Zoom.
Register with Jochem: jochem@transman.nl
After registration we will email you the Zoom link.
A maximum of 8 participants can join.

Do you need something to be able to participate in this meeting? Please let us know when you register!

Mentally vulnerable?

We can imagine that trans men with a mental vulnerability or neurodivergence (such as ADHD and autism) would also like an online meeting. We would like to organise a separate meeting for that. Are you interested? Mail to bureau@transman.nl, and we will keep you informed!
